Our Purpose and Ethos

Education for Unique Students

Our purpose is to give our young people an equal opportunity to reach their potential; to realise their personal goals in education, health and life. Some young people have become school-phobic, have suffered from lowered self-esteem or have struggled with social, emotional and mental health concerns. Our experience suggests that some young people have fallen between the cracks. We know from experience that young lives can be transformed through our nurturing and supportive education.

We recognise the significant need for a bespoke, high quality school provision in North London. We know that societal pressures and individual circumstances, even before the pandemic, have resulted in some young people struggling to engage in education.

Our team of highly-skilled educationalists can, where necessary, work in partnership with parents, local authorities and professionals to deliver on Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), enabling young people and their parents to have confidence that their education will be supported until that time when the young person is a confident, resilient learner, who no longer needs this type of help.

A Proven Team of 'Outstanding' Professionals

Our proven team of experts have decades of hands-on experience in school education for adolescents with complex backgrounds, including, but not limited to, Special Educational Needs (SEN). We are experts understanding the complexities of each person's need as well as specialists in gathering the information needed to apply for EHCPs. This existing team has consistently achieved OFSTED’s ‘Outstanding’ ratings - the highest possible distinction - and their established track record of over 20 years will be the cornerstone of this new development. Our excellence in teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do, and the team is always excited to work with new and committed professionals who wish to share in our vision.

Catering to Individual Needs

We have a wealth of experience with complex cases in an academic setting. The specific barriers to learning with which we have worked with include: high-functioning autism, school refusal and phobia, low self-esteem and complex cases of social and emotional mental health.

We achieve this high quality of individualised care and provision through a calm, secure, and therapeutic environment with small class sizes, resulting in a high teacher to student ratio. We also access specialist services going far beyond the usual extra-curricular support of a mainstream state or independent school.

Transformative Education

We aim to transform the lives of the young people who attend our school. We will enable them to access the learning that they need, despite the barriers they may have. We also seek to equip them with the necessary skills and confidence that they need outside of a school setting, providing a sustainable, holistic education that allows them to become effective, independent citizens, and lifelong learners.
